Manchester School of Design founded.

School of Education founded.

School of Domestic Science founded.

Former Domestic and Trades College (latterly Hollings College) founded.

Cheshire Training College founded.
1996
HM The Queen opens Geoffrey Manton building, now home to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
1998
The Manchester Writing School founded.
2012
Award-winning environmentally sustainable Business School opened.
2013
Celebrating 175 years of the Manchester School of Art with the opening of iconic new Benzie building.
2014
Brooks Building opened, home to the Faculty of Health and Education.
2016
University commits to further capital investment of £400m+.
2019
Queen’s Anniversary Prize was awarded for Mother Tongue Other Tongue, and the Business School joined an elite global group of triple crown accredited institutions.
2020
Grosvenor East building opened for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
2021
Our innovative School of Digital Arts (SODA) opened along with our newest student accommodation - Archway.
2022
Our brand new Institute of Sport opened its doors to students in January 2022.
2023
Faculty of Science and Engineering’s new home is set to be completed in 2023.
