Internet access can be a staple of both your home life and your academic life. To enable you to easily get online and access the internet from your accommodation we offer a good broadband service to all students living in our accommodation and it is included in your rent.
Internet access for accommodation owned or leased by Manchester Met is provided by StudentCom, a student accommodation internet service.
Via StudentCom we offer a simple “plug‘n’play” service, so as soon as you move into your accommodation, you will be able to quickly register for the service and gain internet access immediately.
You get up to 30MB download speed as standard. If you would like a faster service, quicker downloads and a more superior service overall, you can upgrade to upgrade to 50MB or 100MB. To find out about how you can upgrade please visit the StudentCom website.
The StudentCom “IPTV” service allows you to watch freeview televisions and access radio stations at broadcast quality direct on your personal computer or laptop. There is no need for you to bring a television from home as from as little as £5.00 for the full academic year you can have the option to select from a range of premium channels including MTV, Comedy Central and even some international channels.

The StudentCom cloud storage service offers a safe and secure way of backing up you files without the need for extra hardware such as external hard drives or memory sticks. For just £10.00 per year you are offered unlimited space to backup, ensuring files, coursework or photographs are automatically backed up every time you connect to the internet.
