Interests and expertise

I joined Manchester Law School as a Senior Lecturer in Law in December 2004. Before this, I was employed as a Legal Adviser/employed barrister at Oxford Magistrates’ Court, where I dealt with the full range of courts. I also had responsibility for cases involving football banning orders, anti-social behaviour orders and for taxation of costs from central funds.

I am now Visiting Senior Lecturer in Law and Professional Consultant in the Faculty of Law at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

My research and writing interests are in the fields of criminal law and mooting.

Mooting
I coached Manchester Law School’s mooting teams in external competitions for many years. In recent years, teams from Manchester Law School have achieved the following:
