MAST Public Engagement Workshop

Dr Sam Illingworth was invited to the beautiful Scottish Highlands town of Aviemore to deliver a workshop on developing research narrative to postgraduate students.

Dr Sam Illingworth (@SamIllingworth) was invited to the beautiful Scottish Highlands town of Aviemore to deliver a workshop on developing research narrative to postgraduate students. This was part of the doctoral programme provided by the Marine Alliance for Science and Technology in Scotland. As well as discussing the importance of narrative and storytelling, they also created short stories and poetry about scientific items that were important to us. Sam chose the Beagle 2 Lander, which had inspired his interest in Space Science when it was developed by The University of Leicester (his alma mater) in the early 2000s, and which inspired him to write this poem
