Dr Kate Dixon is responsible for the strategic development and leadership of Technical Services, a team of 200 highly trained staff who work in specialist areas such as laboratories, workshops, theatres and studios to provide support to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Kate leads several sustainability projects across the service which include the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF), a new tool to identify and drive sustainability and cultural focused changes in labs and a-typical spaces, Carbon Literacy training to build sustainability awareness across the service, and has driven the team to implement sustainability resource audits, circular economy focused projects and cross-faculty activities.
