Students’ experience better than ever before

University posts best National Student Survey ratings

FINAL YEAR undergraduate students at Manchester Met are more satisfied than ever before with their experience at the University, according to this year’s National Student Survey (NSS).

The University has recorded its highest-ever satisfaction rate in the NSS, and eleven courses received 100% overall satisfaction ratings from their students who responded.

The courses were: Early Years & Childhood Studies, Abuse Studies, Acting, Business Economics with placement, Coaching & Sport development, English and American Literature, English and Film, Philosophy, Applied Biomedical Science, Product Design & Technology and English/Linguistics.

University results across all overall categories increased for the NSS 2015 and overall Student Satisfaction is now at 85%, two per cent higher than last year.

Dr Myszka Guzkowska, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Success), said: “These are an excellent set of NSS results, and are testament to the huge amount of commitment to the student experience which is demonstrated by all of the University’s staff - academic staff, all categories of professional services staff and the Students’ Union.

“The University has done extremely well in all categories of the survey, and we have increased our own satisfaction score in the vast majority of the individual questions, often outstripping any increases seen in the sector overall.

“The consistency and scale of this year’s improved satisfaction scores suggest that the University has established excellent momentum to optimise the quality of the student experience, and our challenge is now to embed and maintain this momentum to achieve a culture of continuous improvement.”
