Discounted IT equipment & software

You can now use your Met Card to purchase selected hardware from Getech with enhanced warranty via a national purchasing agreement at specially discounted prices. This means you can use your loan or bursary to buy computing equipment for your course with these added benefits:

  • A great price on a wide range of high-specification equipment
  • Delivery to your home address
  • Scheme arranged under the UCISA National Desktop and Notebook Agreement (NDNA)
  • Three years parts and labour manufacturer warranty on equipment covered under the NDNA (International warranty for first year) and enhanced UK service arrangements via Getech

How to buy

  1. Go to the Met Card website
  2. Under ‘Books & IT Products’, click ’Getech Student Store’
  3. Log in where prompted with your normal University ID number and password
  4. Shop for the equipment of your choice, following the onscreen directions.

Financial support

Buying a laptop or computer

If, for unforeseen reasons, you don’t have access to a computer or laptop, in certain circumstances you may be able to apply for financial support. Please contact the Student Hub or Student Financial Support. Please note that funding is not guaranteed.

Internet access

If you don’t have a way to access the internet - such as a wifi-enabled device or a desktop computer with a network cable - contact the Student Hub.
