Politics at Manchester Metropolitan University boasts research and teaching strengths in American Foreign Policy, European politics and Energy Policy, British Political History, Latin American Politics, Social Theory and Communal Studies, and International Relations.

A suite of undergraduate courses, with single honours and Combined Honours options, is offered at undergraduate level. Postgraduate study options include our taught, MA in International Relations and Global Communications and MPhil and PhD by research qualifications.

Engaged in a wide range of research comprising specialist research projects and a varied programme of publications, Politics staff members have fostered links with the wider research and professional communities in their respective areas of expertise. Politics also offers a regular series of academic conferences and public lectures attracting a broad international audience.

Programme staff also regularly engage in outreach work in the local community.
