James Simpson is the Lighting Visualiser at the Royal Opera House, responsible for developing and deploying visualisation systems to help creatives achieve their design vision. He loves finding ways to make technology and art work together to allow us to create more ambitious and spectacular productions for our audiences. Along with the title “visualiser” he also adopts the terms designer, developer, researcher, futurist, artist, consultant, columnist, teacher, student, husband, father and geek! He has worked on some of the worlds biggest and most exciting projects including The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Ceremonies, Miss Saigon and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
