Vladimir Vorotovic

Lead Modelling Specialist, Transport for London

Vladimir works in the role of a Lead Modelling Specialist in the Modelling & Visualisation Team, which is an integral part of the Surface Transport within Transport for London (TfL).

Vladimir has a Masters Degree in Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning from the University of Belgrade, Serbia and an MBA from the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK. He is a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Vladimir has been working in the traffic engineering and modelling industry for more than 15 years. Vladimir joined TfL in 2006. During his time at TfL Vladimir has been involved in numerous traffic modelling and visualisation projects, including the development of the ONE model for Central London, 2012 Olympic Games and East West Cycle Superhighway project (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thyy2-J-BFw).

Vladimir was responsible for the delivery of TfL’s Traffic Modelling Guidelines 3.0 and update of TfL’s Model Auditing Process. Vladimir also led a team which won UK National Transport Award in 2010 for an interface between the UTC system and VISSIM micro-simulation modelling. In his current role Vladimir is providing specialist traffic modelling and visualisation advice and is responsible for the development of TfL’s virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) capabilities, utilising game engine software products, as well as HTC Vive and HoloLens hardware products.
