Dr. Wanggen Wan, born in June 1961, received his PhD degrees from Xidian University, China in 1992. From 1991 to 1992, he was a visiting scholar in Computer Engineering Dept. of Minsk Radio Engineering Institute, former USSR. He was Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Information and Control Engineering Dept. of Xi’an Jiao-Tong University in 1993-1995. From 1995 to 1997, he was Associate Professor at Electronic and Information Engineering Dept. of Shanghai University, and was promoted to be Full Professor in 1998. He was Visiting Scholar at Electrical and Electronic Engineering Dept. of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1998-1999, and Visiting Professor and Section Head at Multimedia Innovation Center of Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2000-2004. Since 2004, he has been with the School of Communication and Information Engineering, Shanghai University where he is currently a Full Professor/PhD supervisor, and Program Leader of Circuit and System. During 2007-2010, he was Vice Dean (responsible for teaching and learning) of School of Communication and Information Engineering. From 2010 to 2013, he was Director of Academic Affair Office, Shanghai University. He is currently Director of International Office, and Dean of Institute of Smart City of Shanghai University. Prof. Wan is IET Fellow, and IEEE Senior Member. He is also Chairman of IET Shanghai Local Network, and Vice-Chairman of IEEE Shanghai CIS Chapter. He has been Co-Chairman for at least 10 international conferences since 2008 (ICALIP2008-ICALIP2016, ICSSC2010-ICSSC2017). His research interests include VR/AR, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, video processing, machine learning, data mining, etc. He is a coauthor of approximately 200 academic papers, and principal investigator for more than 30 governmental funded research projects.
