Nigel Jones

Over 15 years international business experience working with some of the world’s largest multinationals through to owner managed SMEs and entrepreneurial start-ups, Nigel has worked with and led multi-disciplinary teams that have secured inward investment projects on time and within budget across the UK. He works as part of a new team of sector specialists, driving Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the North of England (the ‘Northern Powerhouse’). This is part of the wider rebalancing of the UK economy by attracting FDI opportunities from around the world that align with the primary economic capabilities of the North. Nigel leads on the tech, digital and creative industry sectors using his experience working with DIT, EY, PA Consulting and in the tech sector where he worked for a cloud based, e-commerce and CRM software business selling monetisation solutions to the entertainment industry which he helped to internationalise. He has also account managed a plethora of foreign tech, digital and creative sector business across the UK for DIT to ensure they maximised their potential here. More recently he has focussed on the Immersive Tech sector - a real strength across the Northern Powerhouse – which has seen him work with a number of international businesses, including arranging and hosting relevant itineraries to help them explore the opportunities for them here.
