Professor Andy Miah

Professor Andy Miah, PhD (@andymiah), is Chair in Science Communication & Future Media, at the University of Salford, Manchester. Currently, he sits on the Scottish Government’s Ministerial Advisory Group for Digital Participation. Previously, he advised the British Government’s Science and Technology Select Committee on Human Enhancement in Sport, and the European Parliament on matters of human enhancement. Professor Miah is a Board member of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, the European City of Science 2016, and a steering group member and contributor of various art science festivals. He is renowned for his work in digital science communication, and a thought leader in technology-led communication in science. In 2015, he was presented with the UK’s national award for science communication by the BIG STEM network. He is author over 200 articles, 8 books, and regularly interviews for the media, recently Vice, ESPN, and BBC Click.
