Ronald Haynes

University Computer Officer, University of Cambridge

Ronald Haynes is a University Computer Officer who has been part of academic ICT in the US and UK, including as University of Bristol's first Webmaster, moving to Cambridge as Computer Manager for Selwyn College, then Deputy IT Manager for the Cavendish Laboratory, then part of the University Information Services’ Institution Strategy group.  Formerly he was a consultant, technical writer and editor in Pittsburgh and London.  He holds BCS, ACM, Computer Society, and IEEE membership.  With Fabio Lahr, who manages a 3D lab for Human Evolutionary research, they organise a 3D interest group (3DiG) for the University community, including staff from IT, Biological Anthropology, Classical Archaeology, Computer Science, Material Science, Museums, and Neurology.  3DiG aims to be a place for all topics 3D related, so interested users can share our research, ideas, questions, and keep each other up-to-date with developments in 3D printing, scanning, visualising, modelling, displays and user interfaces.
