In collaboration with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) and Tetra Signum, a development company from South Korea aiming to bring immersive technologies into the medical industry, this project explores the use of VR as a novel method of shoulder rehabilitation.

This research investigates whether VR improves patient outcomes and increases engagement and completion rates with shoulder rehabilitation programmes.

Creative approach

The Creative AR and VR Hub will conduct both qualitative and quantitative research with patients who are undergoing shoulder rehabilitation how to integrate VR as part of their rehabilitation programme.

This pilot study is due to start in early 2020 and outcomes will be updated in due time. Currently, the prototype VR application is being developed.
