"Manchester Met has given me the best academic journey to boost my confidence, sharpen my critical skills and provided a thought-provoking English Masters course."
What do you like most about your course?

What I like most about studying the MA English degree is the course content. Studying an MA is very rewarding, and it is taught by enthusiastic lecturers who care about your learning, bring out your academic thinking and confidence to succeed. You’ll find the journey rewarding.

The MA course offers an understanding of political theory, political space, borders, the Holocaust, philosophy of the mind and technology and engaging film and literature.

The University offers support for all students for all levels. Taking on the extra help from the writing workshops and talking to helpful staff to improve my research and essays really helped. The tutors always offer their support.

The MA course offers the chance to engage in extra activities outside the course like the Postgraduate Arts and Humanities Centre MA/ PhD Collaboration Award and meet other students from different faculties.

I enjoyed the range of topics in each of the Units offered on my pathway of literature, political and film theory. I got to engage in contemporary film, literature and political debates. It opened my eyes to many critical theories and debates on subjects I like and helped my understanding. I’ve enjoyed the MA study that much; I’ve considered to carry on and study a PhD.

Studying the MA English course has given me new confidence, challenged me and expanded my academic understanding.
