A Brief History of Black People in Britain

Black people have been living in Britain for more than 2000 years! This brief session will focus on a selection of Black Britons over the last 250 years, emphasizing their activities, challenges, and achievements, and will include a quiz, films, music and a Q & A session at the end.

Linford Sweeney has been delivering Black History classes, courses, talks and workshops across the UK (and including MMU community outreach) for the past fourteen years. He is also a Caribbean genealogist, community activist, poet, life coach, and author of two books. His past work has included management lecturer, community engagement specialist, civil servant, events manager, radio presenter, and local authority officer.
