Young people’s engagement with substance use treatment services

This study was commissioned and funded by Manchester City Council’s Community Safety Partnership Board, who wanted to reflect on the effectiveness of the city’s substance use treatment services in this particular context.

Substance use remains a pressing issue among some groups of young people, particularly those involved with the justice system. Despite this, there is a stark lack of initiatives and interventions specifically designed to address the issue. The purpose of this study was to address this deficit and to explore ways in which it could be remedied.
