Discover events on campus and around Manchester
For some of you, February will mean settling back into university life and for others, it will mark the beginning of your university experience. No matter what stage of university life you’re in, there’s loads happening on campus and around the city.
Here’s a selection of some of the things that you can get involved with:
On campus
Our annual Feedback Festival is back for 2024. This is your opportunity to share thoughts and ideas about your university experience and how we can make it even better.
Join the Festival in your faculty to have some fun, play games, treat yourself to snacks and more while you take part in either the National Student Survey (NSS), for final-year undergraduate students or the Student Voice Survey, for non-final year undergraduate students and taught postgraduate students.

Postgraduate Open Day
If you’re thinking of taking your studies to the next level, why go anywhere else? Explore your options at our Postgraduate Open Day. Connect with tutors and current students, get insights into your dream course, and learn about the support available. Remember, as a current Manchester Met student, you may also be eligible for 20% discount on postgraduate course fees.

Launch Your Future - Graduate Careers Fair
Are you looking for your first graduate role? If so, come along and attend the Launch Your Future - Graduate Careers Fair. You will get the chance to connect with recruiters who are actively hiring, find out exactly what they are looking for and what they are offering. The event will include employers who are promoting graduate roles that are due to start between June and September 2024.

Around the city
Manchester Open Exhibition 2024
The Open Exhibition is the largest celebration of Greater Manchester’s creative talent. HOME Gallery walls will be filled with work created by you, selected by a panel consisting of art experts and community representatives. Open to all, the Manchester Open brings together artwork of all forms.
Artists can submit one piece of artwork, entries are welcome from people of any level of experience and background including; established professionals, students, graduates, new and emerging talent, enthusiastic amateurs and first-time artists.

Chinese New Year
Celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon with Manchester’s legendary Dragon Parade. Follow the 175ft dragon through the streets of the city as it makes it way to Chinatown, accompanied by a parade of traditional Lion and Ribbon dances, Chinese Opera performers, 12 Zodiac animals and ancient army characters.

Castlefield Viaduct re-opening
Manchester’s temporary sky-garden is reopening this month. The viaduct has been brought back into use and transformed into an accessible green space for the local community. Enjoy some time out and get out in the fresh air, explore the viaducts history and experience an urban park in the sky.

Six Nations Rugby screening
Freight Island will be screening the Six Nations in their sports bar. From Saturday 3 February you can watch all the action on the big screen. Entry is free, but you can reserve your spot online.
