New 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support launches for students

Life as a student is exciting, but it can also come with its challenges. That’s why we are making it easier for you to access support when you need it with a new easy to use service 

In addition to the support, we already provide through our Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing team, you now have access to a new 24/7 free helpline from Spectrum.Life. The service will also include a digital platform full of handy resources for your physical and mental wellbeing.   

Immediate assistance anytime 

Through Spectrum.Life’s free helpline, you can speak to a qualified counsellor at any time of the day or night. This service offers immediate, confidential support for a wide range of mental health issues, including: 

The counsellor will work with you to understand the challenges you are facing and assess your needs, so that they can provide you with personalised help and advice.

If a counsellor is not available in the moment, you will be called back at a time that suits you. 

The service is available to all Manchester Met students, accept those in the USA or Canada. If you are on a placement or exchange in these countries, please contact our Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing team for direct support.

Self-help online resources at your fingertips 

You can also visit the Spectrum.Life web portal or download the app, which will give you access to over 250 hours of self-help content. This includes live fitness classes, recipes, and online content to help you manage stress, improve your sleep pattens and navigate different relationships.
